Aidan Rantoul

I’m a professional sound engineer in Vancouver, Canada who excels in post production editing, audio restoration and mixing skills. I also work mixing both front of house and monitors in some of Vancouver’s largest concert houses including The Pacific Coliseum, Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Orpheum and many others. If you would like to collaborate together on your project, please find a contact form here or at the bottom of this page.

Podcast Consultant and Mixing Engineer

In late 2016 I was put in contact by a friend with Deutsche Welle’s anchor Matt Hermann to bring his Talking Fussball Podcast to the level of other top sports podcasts with my audio editing, restoration, mixing and musical composition background. As this podcast is recorded in multiple locations, including residential environments each week files provided are cleaned up, edited and mixed together to create a flowing conversational podcast which now stands strongly amongst much larger budget studio recorded podcasts.

You can find their latest episodes on iTunes here or preview my work on an older episode below.

Session Studio Musician

I have had the fortune of recording on a number of international artists works including Vancouver’s own Said The Whale. In 2007 I was invited over for an evening to write and record bass lines for the Taking Abalonia EP which was then re-released as the “Howe Sounds/Taking Abalonia” album where you can find my bass lines on tracks 8-15 including their single “This Winter I Retire”.

I have also played bass on a number of recordings for artists who I have recorded, some of which can be heard below.

Live Performing Session/Touring Musician

I have been hitting the stage with a bass guitar delivering energetic thundering performances since I could be labelled a teenager. Over the following twenty years I’ve played with international touring artists and local acts as both a band member and often as a short-notice session player. If you need no nonsense bass parts played as they’re required or have any other questions please fill out the form below.
